Mary Edith Cahoe Reiter, 82, of New Haven went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday March 21, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mary Edith Reiter was born October 29, 1938 to the late John Harlan and Susan Ada Smith Cahoe.

Mary Edith was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, St. Catherine Alumina, she was a member of the parish council, she headed numerous events.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Norris, 2nd husband George E. Reiter, one sister, Elizabeth Christine Blandford, one brother, William H. “Bill’ Cahoe.

Mary Edith is survived by, two sons, Michael (Vanessa) Reiter, of New Haven and John Wayne (Amy) Reiter, of New Hope,  three brothers, James Louis “Shorty”  Cahoe of New Haven, Albert C. “Happy” (Rose Ann) Cahoe of Shepherdsville, Edwin Eugene “Genie” (Mary Catherine) Cahoe of New Haven, two sisters, Ruth Rosaline “Rosie” Thompson, and Margaret Mary (Joe) Boon all of New Haven, one sister in-law, Mary Ann Cahoe of Louisville, six grandchildren, Josie, Mason, Easton, Troy, Trevor, and Haleigh, several nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

Funeral services for Mary Edith Cahoe Reiter, will be held Thursday March 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Troy Overton, Father Scott Wimsett, and Father Matthew Hardesty officiating.

Visitation for Mary Edith will be Wednesday March 24, 2021 at William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel from 2 to 8 p.m. with prayer services at 4 p.m. with Father Matthew Hardesty officiating in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until the time of service.

William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel is in charge of his arrangements.

It is recommended that all visitors wear a mask or face covering.
