Mary Ann DeMar Rust, 84, of New Haven, Kentucky went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday July 31, 2021 at her residence in New Haven with her family by her side.
Mary Ann DeMar Rust was born March 02, 1937 in New Haven to the late James and Mary Alice Mattingly DeMar. Mary was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Aunt and friend, she also helped in the daily operation of the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel.
In addition to her parents Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Louis Rust Sr., one son, Gary E. “Squirrel” Rust, two daughters, Mary Rust, and Sandra D. Rust, one step-grandson, Glenn E. Stratton III, two brothers, J.E. DeMar, Kenneth “Kenny” DeMar, two half-brothers Lewis DeMar, Leon DeMar three sisters, Mary Gertrude “Gertie” Vernon, Ivy Dewitt, and Carmelita Price.
Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory, five sons, Charles “Chuck” (Beth) Rust Jr, of Ice town, Bruce A. Rust of New Haven, William R. Rust of New Haven, Thomas J. “Jeff” (Vicki) Rust of Hodgenville, John C. (Crystal) Rust of Lyons Station, one daughter, Beverly Ann (Dana) DeSpain of Lyons Station, one daughter-in-law, Pam Douglas Rust of Ice town, one brother, Arnold “Buddy” (Rita) DeMar of Louisville, two sisters, Shirley Dewitt of New Haven, and Cecilia Weyrauch of Louisville, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, with her grandson, Father Kirby Rust and Father Matthew Hardesty officiating, with burial to follow in church Cemetery.
Visitation For Mary Ann DeMar Rust will be held Tuesday August 3, from 12 – 8 at the William R. Rust funeral home with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with Father Kirby Rust officiating, visitation will continue after 8:30 Wednesday until time of service at 11:00 at the church.
