Max Gerald Edllin, 74, of New Haven passed away Tuesday May 17, 2022 at his residence in New Haven, surrounded by his family.

Max was born May 11, 1948 in Hodgenville to the late Gordon and Leona Anderson Gilkey Edlin. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

 Max was a Deputy Sheriff for Larue County and also part owner, operator of Edlin Trucking, he was a member of Rolling Fork Christian Church in Lyon Station. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army

Max is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Kay Florence Edlin of New Haven, two sons, Joe Paul (Reva) Edlin of Hodgenville, and Jesse (Tina) Edlin of New Haven, two grandchildren, Hayden Edlin and Matthew LunsFord, one brother Merle (Judy) Edlin of Hodgenville, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Max Gerald Edlin will be held Saturday May 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel, with Brother Nathan Housley officiating, burial to follow River View Cemetery in New Haven with full Military Honors.

Visitation will be held Friday May 20, 2022 from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of service.

Richard Horrell “Dick” Mahoney, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 24, 2021.

He was born August 29, 1941 in New Haven to the late, Kent and Mary Dawson Mahoney, he grew up in New Haven with his sister and four brothers, Dorothy Ann, Ken, Jim, Joe, and Bill.

He was married to Lee Dawson Mahoney from 1965 until her passing in 2016.

He is survived by a daughter, Theresa Houser, a son-in-law, David Houser and 2 grandchildren, Jack and Megan Houser all of Odessa Florida, one sister, Dorothy Ann, and 3 sister-in-laws, Martha Ann, Allie and Kay.

Dick served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for several major corporations traveling all over the world throughout his career. He dove for sunken treasure with Mel Fisher, he rode with cattle ranchers in Marfa TX., did logging with balloons in Oregon, provided costal surveillance with aerostats in the Florida Keys and in spite of all that, his heart was always with his family in Kentucky.

He loved his family, Kentucky, Jesus, the outdoors, campfires, climbing trees, basketball, archery, Westerns, Lone Ranger and fixing things. Dick was one of the most kind, gentle, nice, funny and hardworking people you would ever want to know. He was an amazing man who I called “the best Dad ever”. He is deeply loved and deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Saturday May 14, 2022 form 9 to 11 a.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel, with a prayer service at 11 a.m. with Father Matthew Hardesty officiating, with a graveside service following at St. Catherine Church Cemetery.

Marilyn Cash Flanagan, 71, of Hodgenville passed away Sunday May 1, 2022 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Marilyn C. Flanagan was born in Fancy Farm Kentucky to the late Irvin and Anna Margaret Neel Cash.

Marilyn was a Catholic by faith, she retired from Bell South Phone Company, she was a loving lady, and wife.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Cash, and a sister, Beth Cash.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 10 years, Dayne Flanagan of Hodgenville, three brothers, Joseph Irvin ( Sandi)  Cash Jr. of Byhalia, Mississippi, Rodney (Celia) of Castaic California, and Andy Cash of Paducah, Kentucky, one sister, Kathy Morrison of Hodgenville, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In keeping with the families wishes cremation was chosen.

There will be a service at a later date in Fancy Farm, Kentucky in the St. Jerome Catholic Church Cemetery.

Christopher “Chris” Michael Loyall, 45, of Magnolia passed away Saturday April 16, 2022, in Radcliff, Kentucky.

Chris was born in Hardin County January 26, 1977, to the late Mike Loyall and his mother Vicki Lee Lafollette.

Chris was saved by Jesus Christ, and he was Baptist by faith. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Hodgenville.

Chris was the best Daddy and Husband you could ask for; he will be missed by countless friends and family.

Chris had a compassion for helping people in his line of duty and beyond that. He was a Fireman with the Radcliff Fire Department with 15 years of service. He was recently promoted to Sergeant. He volunteered at the Buffalo Fire Department, was an E.M.T. and CDL driver. He loved riding his Harley, had a love for animals and his dog was his best friend. He was blessed with the ability to buy and sale anything and was absolutely unable to pass up a good deal.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Justin Keith and Nathan Graham, his grandparents, Darlene Miles, Bob Salsman, Shorty and Shirley Loyall, his great-grandparents, Linzey and Bessie Salsman, and a brother-in-law, Matt Hanson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 18 years, Samantha Rock Loyall, and his daughter Taylor of Magnolia, his mother, Vicki (Charlie) Lafollette, and Daphne Loyall, his father-in-law, Gary Rock, his mother-in-law Cindy (Lowell) Hanson, seven brothers, Toby (Ali) Loyall, Jason (Crystal) Keith, Boy (Katie Barnes) Loyall, Johnny Graham, Zach Loyall, Clifford (Janice) Lafollette, and Jason (Laura) Clopton, two sisters, Melissa (Jeremy) Jones, and Leslie Plouvier, his grandmothers, Mamie Perkins, and Delores Salsman, a sister-in-law, Megan (Alex) Dohn, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Chris will be held Friday April 22, 2022, at 12 p.m. at William R. Rust Hodgenville Chapel. With Brother Dewayne Gibson, Bro. Norm Brock, and Johnny Graham, officiating, with burial to follow in Red Hill Cemetery.

Special viewing will be held Thursday from 11-2 for his close friends and his Safety Official Family.

Visitation will be held Thursday April 21, 2022, from 2-8 and will continue after 10 a.m. Friday until time of service at 12 at the funeral home.

Donations can be made to a Scholarship foundation in memory of Chris Loyall, or the Gideons Ministry.

Betty C. Gusler, 85, of Hodgenville passed away Sunday April 17, 2022 at Sun Rise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

Betty was born in Hodgenville July 8, 1936 to the late Edward ‘Ed” and Brookies Lee Skaggs Rock.

Betty worked for Southern State in Hodgenville with 35 years of service.

 Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Gusler, a brother, Bobby Rock, and one sister, Linda Gusler.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Eddie (Sharon) Gusler, three grandchildren, Jodi Brown, J.J. and Jake Gusler, six great-grandchildren, Travis, Courtney Lynn Brown, Jayden, Jase, Raegan and Ella Gusler, two brothers, Danny Rock of Hodgenville, Harold (Vivian) Rock of Ormond Beach Florida, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
