Marylee Monroe Blakeman, 62, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky passed away Monday July 26, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

Marylee was born November 23, 1958 in Elizabethtown, to the late Genevieve Wathen Monroe and Robert Wesley Monroe.

Marylee was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she was a member of South East Christian Church, she was a clerk for Elizabethtown Laundry.

In addition to her parents, Marylee was preceded in death by, a son, Benjamin Blakeman, and her significant other, Bobby McCubbins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Katie (Cassidy Loyall) Barnes of Elizabethtown, a son Cody Blakeman of Illinois, three grandchildren, Lucas Barnes, Blake Barnes, and Brooklyn Loyall, two brothers, Craig and David Monroe both of Elizabethtown, one sister, Susan Rainey ( Michael Nohejl) of Florida, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Marylee Monroe Blakeman will be held Saturday July 31. 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, with Brother Larry P. Vance officiating, burial to follow at the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation for Marylee Monroe Blakeman will be held Saturday July 31, 2021 from 10 a.m.  until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lucita Marie “Lou”  Dunn, 88, of Bardstown, Kentucky passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021 at Land Mark Rehabilitation Center in Bardstown, Kentucky. She was a resident of Windsor Gardens, of Bardstown.

Lucita was born July 17, 1932 in New Haven to the late Louis and Pauline Hagan Dunn.

She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, she was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, she was a great cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis L. Dunn, and Gene Dunn, two sisters, Alberta Feltman, and Helena Dunn.

Lucita is survived by one sister, Cecilia Haynes of Virginia, and by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cousin Pat Murray (Marvin) Boone and a dear friend, Susie Rapier both of whom helped to care for her.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday July 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Matthew Hardesty officiating, with burial to follow in church Cemetery.  

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church at 11:00 a.m..

Mary Alice Johnson Nalley 75, of New Haven passed away Friday July 16, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mary Alice Nalley was born February 16, 1946 in Bardstown, Kentucky to the late Anothony Earl and Margie Mae McCubbins Johnson.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, a daughter, Tammy Marie Nalley, two brothers, Tony and Paul Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, of 57 years, Henry ‘Junnie” Ivo Nalley of New Haven, a son, Troy Dale (Ashley) Nalley of New Haven, six daughters, Cindy (Kevin Rogers) Edlin of New Haven, Sue (Jimmy) Smallwood of New Haven, Connie (John) Baker of Sevierville, TN., Trina Judson of Washington, D.C., and Kelly ( Tony Graham) of Bardstown, Makila (Shawn Coulter) Johnson, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four brothers, Jessie (Patsy) Johnson, Randal (Aggie) Johnson, Bobby Johnson, and Sammy (Beth) Johnson, four sisters, Cecilia (Ronnie) Bryan, Theresa (Ricky) Donahue, Maggie (Ricky) Jackson, and Annette Price, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Mary Alice Johnson Nalley, will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown with Father Matthew Hardesty officiating with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Holy Cross Kentucky.

Visitation for Mary Alice will be held Tuesday July 20, 2021 from 3-8 p.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel and will continue after 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home until time of service at the church.

Terry Lynn Cruse, 63, of Hodgenville passed away Thursday July 15, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, with his family by his side.

Terry was born November 6, 1957 in Hart County to the late John B. and Margaret Salsman Cruse.

Terry graduated from Larue Co. High School in 1976, he obtained a associates of Arts degree at E.C.C., and graduated from  Kentucky Sheriff Academy at W.K.U., an elected president of his class, also graduated from the Police Academy dept. of Criminal Justice Training at E.K.U. 2ND in his class. Chief Deputy Sheriff from 1986 to 1999, also the Mayor of Hodgenville from 2006 to 2014, received Purple heart, from National Sheriffs Association for getting shot in the line of duty.

His 1st year in office he over seen and managed the reconstruction of Hodgenville Square and managed the construction and placement of the statue of young Abe Lincoln, Moved city Hall & Police Dept. to Civic Center, Constructed new water Tower at Fairgrounds, updated Creek front park with water, New restrooms, playground equipment, and basketball court.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Mayola Cruse Jeffries.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hall Cruse of Hodgenville, his son, John Daniel ( Heather) Cruse of Hodgenville, three grandchildren, Carley June Cruse, Easton William Cruse, and Avia Lynn Cruse, AKA one brother, J.R. Jeffries, one brother-in-law, Bobbie Jeffries, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Terry Lynn Cruse will be held Sunday July 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home, with Brother Mark Terrance officiating, burial will follow in the South Fork Church Cemetery.

Visitation for Terry Lynn Cruse will be held Saturday July 17, 2021 from 3 – 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home until time of service.

David Thomas McMillen, 73, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky passed away Friday July 9, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born September 8, 1947 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to the late Tony Columbus and Dorothy Mae Butler McMillen.

David was a self- employed construction worker, he was a Christian by faith. He was a Marine veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his, wife Norma Ruth Duncan, one daughter, Crystal McMillen, one son, Bobby Duncan, and one brother, Tony McMillen Jr.

He is survived by, five sons, David (Christina) McMillen of Elizabethtown, Craig (Sandy) McMillen of Frankfort, Mike (Tonya) McMillen of Frankfort, Dennis (Autumn) Johnson of North Carolina, Keith  Duncan of Indiana, one daughter, Patricia Atkinson of Texas, five brothers, four sisters, 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
