Martha Ann (Sims) Mahoney

Martha Ann Sims Mahoney, 82, of Bardstown, passed away at her residence in Bardstown with her family by her side.

Martha was a member of St. Joseph Parish, former member of Saint Catherine, she worked for Barton Distilleries with 20 years of service and also retired form American Greeting with 26 years of Service. She was a volunteer at Saint Vincent DePaul and Flaget Hospital. She was a wife, sister and aunt.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Raphael (Jimmy) Mahoney, her parents, James Richard (Pinch) and Roseleen Mills Sims, one sister, Mary Sue Mahoney.

Martha is survived by one brother, Jim Sims Jr. (Wanda) of Madisonville, Indian, four sisters, Jane Sims of Bardstown, Rose (David) Mudd , Linda (Ron) McGrath, and Cathy Rice all of Louisville, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian burial for Martha Ann Sims Mahoney will be Tuesday April 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, with Father Terry Bradshaw celebrate, and Father Matthew Hardesty concelebrate, with burial to follow in St. Catherine Church Cemetery.

Visitation for Martha will be Monday April 22, 2024 from 2 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:30 in the Chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home and will continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday until 10:30 at the funeral home.
